Mauritania, Saudi Arabia to Collaborate on Clean Energy

 Mauritania and Saudi Arabia have signed an MOU to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration within the clean energy sector, including renewables, green hydrogen, power and carbon capture technologies. 

The agreement was signed by Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud and Mauritanian Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy Nani Ould Chrougha at the World Economic Forum’s special session in Riyadh last Monday.

The MOU seeks to enhance the utilization of cleaner fossil-fuel technologies, incorporating state-of-the-art practices to mitigate environmental impacts. This involves deploying carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies, alongside boosting energy efficiency.

The agreement also seeks to foster collaborative ventures and facilitate knowledge and technology exchange in the domains of power and renewable energy, propelling collective initiatives in green hydrogen and sustainable energy technologies.
